Maciej Sikała is one of the most respected Polish jazz saxophonists, who has been associated with the leading Polish jazz scene for years. He has collaborated with Jan “Ptaszyn” Wróblewski, Leszek Możdżer, Jarosław Śmietana, Piotr Wojtasik and Wojciech Karolak, as well as with Lester Bow, Billy Harper, Kenny Wheeler, David Liebman and Eddie Henderson. For many years he occupied the leading positions in the Jazz Top survey of the magazine “Jazz Forum” in the category of tenor saxophone.

Maciej Sikała is one of the most respected Polish jazz saxophonists, who has been associated with the leading Polish jazz scene for years. For many years he occupied the leading positions in the Jazz Top survey of the magazine “Jazz Forum” in the category of tenor saxophone.

During the 26th JAZZ Od Nowa Festival he will perform in an international quartet with Czech pianist Daniel Bulatkin, double bass player Wojciech Pulcyn and drummer Sebastian Frankiewicz.

Daniel Bulatkin is a Czech pianist, organist and composer, ranked among the leading representatives of young Czech jazz. He has performed in more than 20 countries, collaborating with Ulf Wakenius, Gary Husband, David Friedman and Gergo Borlai, among others. His music includes various shades of jazz and fusion.

Wojciech Pulcyn belongs to the esteemed Polish jazz double bass players. He collaborated with Jan “Ptaszyn” Wróblewski, Michal Urbaniak, Urszula Dudziak, Janusz Muniak and Marcin Masecki, among others. Sebastian Frankiewicz is a graduate of the Academy of Music in Katowice, has performed at festivals all over the world and also works as an academic pedagogue.

The international composition of the quartet provides space for both classical jazz dialogue and free improvisation, based on the experience of musicians representing different backgrounds and musical perspectives.

The concert will take place on October 16, 2026 at 20:00 at ACKiS “Od Nowa” in Toruń.
