Madison McFerrin

Madison McFerrin

Madison McFerrin in February at a concert in Warsaw's SKY! This is a special time for the daughter of the legendary Bobby McFerrin! A guest appearance on Tyler's album, The Creator, an excellent concert at Tiny Desk Concerts and the well-received album “Scorpio” brought Madison a well-deserved recognition.

Tickets: from Monday, 18.00. Biletomat, eBilet, Eventim, Going.

On “Scorpio,” Madison talks about the power that comes from finding your own voice and sound. Her instrument is primarily the voice — looped and used to create the extraordinary harmonies that have become her hallmark.
As the “Variety” reviewer wrote: For McFerrin, “Scorpio” is a way to reconcile pain with beauty, and he does it with exceptional grace.
The sound of “Scorpio” is almost cinematic and creates a vibrant background for McFerrin's voice — powerful and angelic at the same time. It is a music rooted in the tradition of soul and jazz, but also drawing on the contemporary.
Madison's parents let her in Stevie Wonder, James Brown and, most of all, Aretha Franklin. Today, her inspirations include Jill Scott, Erykah Badu and Solange, among others.
The talent from her father, the legend of jazz vocals and the Grammy winner was also inherited by her brothers. Both are engaged in art: Jevon is an actor and Taylor is a producer and one of the first people Madison lets listen to new music. Bobby McFerrin also listens carefully to her recordings, especially when it comes to harmonies.
I was raised by one of the best performers that ever existed. However, I don't sing because I'm a nepo baby. I create because I feel drawn to it by something bigger than me. And I want to share that gift with other people,” Madison says.
The pride he feels for his family is clearly different from the pride in his own work. Madison knows perfectly well what her purpose is, and the power that comes from it is alluring, exciting and energizing. Not surprisingly, her talent was spotted by Tyler himself, The Creator, inviting her to the track “Don't You Worry Baby” from the album “Don't Tap The Glass”. McFerrin also appeared alongside Common on the legendary producer's single The Twilite Tone.
However, her talent dreams of full brilliance on the author's album “Scorpio”. It is the work of a confident and sought-after singer and composer, full of musical discoveries and catchy songwriting — the result of the work of an artist who is in full control of her textual and sound vision. There's an energy in her music that makes you want to follow her and see where she's going.
