Two of opera's most prominent artists return to the Met stage in Verdi's gripping opera based on the timeless Shakespearean tale of a conspiratorial couple who seek to seize power at all costs.

Baritone Quinn Kelsey takes on the role of a Scottish king haunted by the ghosts of those he murdered to take the throne. He is partnered on stage by soprano Lise Davidsen as Lady Macbeth, possessed by lust for power and pernicious ambition.

In this insightful staging, directed by Louisa Proske, the Met's music director, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, will be behind the conductor's desk. The star cast is rounded off by tenor Freddie De Tommaso as Makduf and bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green as Banko.
