Ewelina Żak's monodrama based on an essay by Katarzyna Sobczuk under the same title. A show about emotions that come unexpectedly.
“Fainting mixed with self-care, treating myself with new caution and seriousness was the first sign of old age,” writes Katarzyna Sobczuk, tenderly and ironically tracking the symptoms of slow change. It looks at middle age and its paradoxes: being the child of aging parents and at the same time an increasingly elderly parent of your own child.
However, this is not psychological theater or realistic vivisection of maturity. Rather, it is an intimate register of small, everyday epiphanies — an attentive, poetic record of “life in the meantime.”
“I don't know anything about real old age yet, but I have a certain idea of it. Yesterday I ate soup, rinsed the plate and put the second (croquette) on it. Then I felt like I could write something — I already know something.”
