Painting the soul of the 20th century: Pellizza of Volpedo

The film tells the story of the turbulent life of Giuseppe Pellizza (1868-1907), an outstanding painter of the squadron, the author of the famous painting “The Fourth Estate” (“The Fourth Estate”). This work, first presented to the public at the Quadriennale in Turin in 1902, is today in Milan's Galleria d'Arte Moderna. Pellizza has gone down in the history of art not only as a master of color and light, but also as an artist with an extraordinary capacity for insightful portraiture of the human soul and society.
