Marathon blasts open doors to Ideal Bar with explosive postpunk

Marathon is created out of the raw energy of Amsterdam's underground scene, where the sharp edges of post-punk and the spherical elements of shoegaze merge into a universe where emotion and energy are given free play.

Marathon released in the spring of 2025 the long-awaited debut album Fading Image.

On the album, the band explores themes of transience and resilience through haunting melodies and introspective lyrics. Here darkness and melancholy meet the hope of new beginnings.

Since its release, it has gone strong for the Dutch post-punk band. With a sold-out tour in its home country and an extensive European tour, Marathon has built a reputation for being equal parts intense and present on stage.

In music, Marathon attempts to capture the angst and turmoil of the 21st century with hard-hitting drums, raw vocals and a distinctive bass line, which combine to create a massive and enveloping sound bath.

On November 15, Marathon Ideal Bar in VEGA invites the audience in for an unforgettable, hard-hitting concert experience.
