Marathon

Marathon is a band shaped by the raw intensity of Amsterdam's underground scene. Inviting listeners to a world where sound and emotion merge into one, Marathon marks its presence in the post-punk revival scene, combining the sharpness of the genre with the atmosphericity of shoegaze and indie introspection.

Marathon's music captures the anxieties of the 21st century — with Lennart's relentless drumming, Kay's rough vocals, and Nina's dominant six-string bass lines, creating a space full of tension and catharsis. At the concerts, Sofie and Victor expand the line-up, adding keyboards and guitars, so that their sound evolves into an explosive mixture of post-punk, shoegaze, noise and grunge - a real “wall of sound”, balancing between darkness and the promise of new beginnings.

Known for their thrilling live performances, Marathon have appeared on the stages of festivals such as Best Kept Secret, ESNS, The Great Escape and the Reeperbahn Festival in recent years. Their highly anticipated debut album Fading Image, released in the spring of 2025, explores themes of transience and resilience. Each track weaves mesmerizing melodies with introspective lyrics, inviting listeners to confront their own emotions in the face of uncertainty. Continuing its journey, Marathon invites everyone to a common, enigmatic journey.
