Marek Napiórkowski String Theory

The composition is a multi-part suite written for improvising guitar, rhythm section and AUKSO orchestra. The album was released by AGORA Muzyka on 21 November 2022 and was appreciated by both critics and listeners, including the O! dreaming of Onet in the Culture category for Marek Napiórkowski.

Marek Napiórkowski looks for new sound challenges in each of his projects. With the album “Hipokamp” he reached for electronic sounds, with “Up!” — for woodwind instruments, while in “Celluloid” and “Wolno” he used only acoustic instruments.

The sound heart of “STRING THEORY” is the string orchestra, which is not only a background for guitar improvisations, but is their equal partner. The compositions were created from the beginning with this unique and rare composition in mind. Nikola Kołodziejczyk, an outstanding arranger who has won many Fryderyk awards, is responsible for the orchestration.

Already at the stage of composing, Napiórkowski was accompanied by the thought of creating harmonic and melodic solutions unprecedented in his music. The result is full of color, original and intriguing music.
