Maria BC Maria BC (they/them), born in Ohio and living in Oakland, California, has constantly opened up her own creative process over the years: From the one-room recording process of the EP Devil's Rain released in 2021, to the untreated recordings of Hyaline wandering through an apartment to a family friend's house with an out of tune baby wing, in which the debut with Sacred Bones, Spike Field, was recorded was.

Hyaline was a highlight of the ambient folk genre in 2022. Maria BC created eerie pieces in it that looked as if they were being sent straight from the heart of a mystical, cobweb-covered attic. Spike Field led the foggy sound language into increasingly sophisticated realms and captures the sound of a voice that has quickly gained shape and expression. Strings, plucked guitars and whirring sound surfaces accompany the classically trained mezzo-soprano voice and immerse the arrangements denser and more colorful than ever before in a kaleidoscopic sound.

With Marathon, Maria BC's third studio album was released in February 2026, also the second release on Sacred Bones. Born from a sense of urgency, almost self-agonizing determination, and perseverance, Marathon reflects what it means to keep going — whether in resistance or mere survival, you're in it for the long haul. On this album, Maria BC addresses topics such as resistance, environmental destruction, personal shocks and decay, all interwoven in musical rawness and energy.

Eli Wewentxu & Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė After getting to know each other at Le Guess Who? Eli and Indrė recorded their album Después de llover.

The album is about a musical conversation between two people who have only recently met. They come from very different backgrounds, don't speak the same language and may have little in common — apart from the resonance of their instruments. This encounter leads them to explore an imaginary world in which they share sounds and create a place where they play with the moisture of the plants growing in the water, listen to the pudus play with the herons, rest on the floripondios and perhaps stay there until the rain returns.

Mapuche artist Eli Wewentxu lives in Chomio — Wallmapu. He began learning the violin at an early age and studied at various locations in Latin America and Europe. Eli works in the fields of musical composition, audiovisual art and the collection of sound archives from the area to which he belongs. In Wallmapu, he is involved in various artistic and educational projects that create spaces for reflection and emotional processing in light of the current political and ecological crisis. He sees listening as an everyday practice of dialogue with the living environment.

In 2024 he released his album and book Narraciones de un Retorno on the label Other People. In 2025 he presented it on a Latin American tour in collaboration with Nicolas Jaar. He now lives in his community in Gülumapu, near the city of Temuco, where he also cultivates the land and takes care of animals.

Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė is a Kanklės player and singer from Lithuania and lives in Belgium. She often performs solo or as part of Merope — her long-standing collaboration with Belgian guitarist and electronic artist Bert Cools. Together, they interweave elements of folk, ambient and electronic music. Her albums have been released by Stroom and Granvat.

Indrė's artistic collaboration includes projects with artists such as Shahzad Ismaily, Eli Wewentxu, Jessika Kenney, Surya Botofasina, Laraaji, Gyða Valtýsdóttir and Solo Cissokho.

Después de llover was published by STROOM in June 2026.
