Marian Pawlik — double bass player, bass guitarist and lutenist — is one of the most important figures of the Krakow musical community. He is a co-founder of the legendary jazz-rock group Dżamble (1969), with whom Andrzej Zaucha, Janusz Muniak, Tomasz Stańko, Michał Urbaniak and Zbigniew Seifert collaborated. The author of such works as Sleeplessness for two and Wołanie o soleil nad svet, as a sideman he recorded several dozen albums with leading artists of the Polish scene. For years he has been performing with his quartet, with which he has released the albums Insomnia for two and Old Bass Line.
This evening we will hear it in the company of outstanding musicians of the Krakow scene: saxophonist Bartłomiej Noszka, pianist Kuba Płużek and drummer Michał Heller.
