Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love - extra show in Himmelbio

Canadian lighthouse keeper Leonard Cohen met his muse, Norwegian Marianne Ihlen, on the Greek rocky island of Hydra in the mid-1960s. The then well-known singer and songwriter was then a young aspiring writer, and Marianne had taken refuge on the island with her young son after a litter-sailed marriage. The meeting threw off the substance of not just a famous anthem ('So Long, Marianne') but resulted in a fiery and chaotic relationship that was to last a lifetime — even when the two were not together.

British documentary veteran Nick Broomfield ('Kurt & Courtney'), who knew Marianne personally, sheds light on the romantic relationship and its importance to Cohen's life and running track through interview and old as new footage of the two soulmates bidding farewell to the world just a few months apart in 2016.
