Maribou State DJ

If you have been following electronic music for the past ten years, you know that Maribou State guarantees a genre-telling mix of downtempo, house, ambient and understated indie pop that can set feet and emotions on fire.

Producer-partner pair Chris David and Liam Ivory's tracks contain a beautiful melancholy and infectious sensibility that their regular collaborator, the formidable singer Holly Walker, is a big part of. With its fusion of electronic and organic elements, Maribou State is akin to names such as Caribou, Mount Kimbie and The xx, and like these artists, the English duo strike the sweet spot between celebration and reflection.

Maribou State debuted in 2015 with “Portraits” and in 2018 released “Kingdoms in Colour”, which includes the stunning single “Feel Good” made in collaboration with the Texan instrumental-soft rockers Khruangbin. The album went top 25 in its home country and was praised by NME, Q Magazine and Exclaim, among others.

In 2025, the UK's third studio album “Hallucinating Love” was released via the prestigious electronic record label Ninja Tune (Bonobo, Peggy Gou, Modesklutor). The album went top 10 in its home country and was shame-praised by NME, Clash Music and The Line of Best Fit, among others.

At home, Maribou State is a well-known and beloved living name. In 2025, they gave a sold-out concert at Store VEGA before visiting that year's NorthSide. And after a well-attended visit to this year's SOUTH OF THE SUN, Davids and Ivory are already returning to Denmark this autumn.
