Mario de Vega — FOR WARSAW

A series of one-on-one sessions by Maria de Vega develops as a performative remote activation of his work FOR WARSAW, presented as part of the exhibition This cat was drawn during the war.

Each activation lasts about 30 minutes and will take place once a month, on Saturdays, until the end of August. Detailed information — dates, times and venues — will be announced two weeks in advance.

The location, script and sound layer of each event remain fluid. In this variability, a new relationship is established between the activation, its material result and the work presented at the exhibition. It is an attempt to capture their common sonic denominator — both within and outside the exhibition space — not necessarily as an audible phenomenon.

Mario de Vega

He was born in 1979 in Mexico and has been associated with Berlin since 2008. In his artistic practice, he focuses on sound as a semantic medium. His work includes site-specific interventions and psychoacoustic situations functioning at the border of auditory perception. De Vega works in the field of sound art and conceptual visual arts, treating the exhibition space as a starting point beyond it, outside, towards conditions and realities that transcend the boundaries of architecture.
