Norwegian hip hop from the top shelf in Lille VEGA

This fall, Marstein will release his third solo album, YAP. It will be his most ambitious project to date and builds on the songwriter's ambition to create music that moves naturally across Nordic borders without giving up his own language and identity.

The outside world has just had a little musical taste of what to expect with the single “RØDT HVIT BLÅ”, co-written with Girl In Red.

During September, the second single “SAVNER ET MANNEN” will be released, which has been created with one of Denmark's biggest stars Tobias Rahim.

Marstein has also made a name for himself as an eminent performer. Last year at Spot Festival, he blew the audience backward with his energy and presence. GAFFA gave it five stars and wrote:

“It takes his man to fill one of the biggest Spot scenes on his own, but Marstein succeeded — both alone and with his audience.”

In 2025, Marstein released his second album FRIHEDE I LENKER. The release went straight into number one in Norway and reached number nine on Spotify's album chart in Denmark.

The hit single “SAMMEN” from the album, which is a duet with Danish pop star Annika, made history as the first Norwegian-language song to reach number one in both Norway and Denmark.

Marstein broke through the wall of sound as part of the successful rap group UNDERGROUND. With their sense of sharp melodies and trap-infected hip hop bangers, the band has since 2018 set off euphoric parties all over Norway.

In 2022, Marstein started his solo career and has since established himself as one of the most influential artists of his generation.
