One space and different memories associated with it. The hotel room from the site of the police investigation is transformed into a film set, becomes a witness of a love relationship, a space in the ghetto in 1942 and a museum established by the state authorities.
What kind of memory do objects produce, how they become a trace, relic or “still life”. What do we as individuals do with memory, how do we appropriate and recreate it? In Elsa Revcolevschi's play, individual and collective memory moves between what is private and what is public, what is hidden and what is imposed from above, what does not fall out and what is politically correct. The play is inspired by the writings of Rachel Auerbach and Imre Kertész, among others.
Elsa Revcolevschi is a French director with Polish-Jewish roots. This year she graduated from the directing department at the State Theatre School at the French National Theatre in Strasbourg (TNS). It is the only school with such a faculty in France. She is also a graduate of literary studies at the Université Paris X Nanterre. The artist was an assistant, among others Lorraine de Sagazan, she also collaborated with Julien Gosslin. She is the first foreign resident at the National Old Theatre.
