About the event

There are such situations when an ordinary day requires extraordinary strength. When the morning begins with things that others do not even have to think about, and the simplest things grow to the rank of challenge. Then you have to learn to live differently. And so... day after day.

This is what happened to Mary Jane, a young mother raising her own son whose special needs set the rhythm of each day. Between chores, doctor visits, phone calls and moments that are difficult to plan, Mary Jane seeks a place for what else belongs to her: music, laughter, conversation, friendship. For an ordinary life that does not want to completely give way to what has become a priority in life.

Other women appear in her path. Each with their own experience, sensitivity and way of dealing with what cannot be easily fixed or named. Their meetings do not bring simple solutions. They bring something perhaps more important — the feeling that even in the most difficult moments we are not completely alone.

“Mary Jane” is a humorous Broadway hit by Amy Herzog, an American playwright and Pulitzer Prize winner. Although it takes place in New York, it could happen anywhere.

Herzog writes about love without great declarations. About the closeness that is born of conversation. About fatigue, which can sometimes be hidden behind a joke. About a hope that sometimes has a very small size, but nevertheless allows you to take the next step.

This extraordinary text was reached by Grzegorz Małecki — an actor who, by directing, increasingly boldly and with considerable success, develops his second artistic path. This time he gives the stage to women.

Media patrons: RMF Classic and TVP Kultura.
