info

At our matinees, you get to know many members of the Berliner Philharmoniker in person year after year: in conversation and with musical samples. This time we want to introduce you to some of the “essentials” who have shaped the orchestra for more than a quarter of a century. Among others, violinist Bettina Sartorius and violist Ulrich Knörzer are present. What do they not have to say! Three chief conductors have experienced them, with all their special features, advantages and peculiarities: Claudio Abbado, Sir Simon Rattle and Kirill Petrenko. They will also report on whether — and how — the Berliner Philharmoniker, their sound and their repertoire have changed over the years.
