Husband and Wife - New Year's Eve at the Theatre

“Husband and Wife” is a gripping comedy by Alexander Fredra, which takes the viewer on a humorous journey through the world of the marital vicissitudes of Count Wenceslas, his wife Elvira, their friend Alfred and the maid Justysa. Full of brilliant dialogues and unusual characters, the art perfectly balances between absurd situations and still topical themes related to love, loyalty, mutual understanding and trust. In “Husband and Wife” Fredro presented in a universal and humorous way the life of the Polish nobility and the customs and social conventions of his era, in which we can still see ourselves today.
