“Mechanical Orange” - movie + dinner

Something for the spirit and body, that is, a film and culinary special event of the festival. This year we are putting the case on a knife blade. We will see the iconic “Mechanical Orange” by Stanley Kubrick. The screening will complement the unique, film-inspired vegan menu prepared especially for Ars viewers by Miłosz Ryba Kaszowski — a chef, chef and restaurateur, fascinated by meatless cuisine, co-owner of local gastronomic concepts in Gliwice, punk rock and football lover.

After the session with the chef, Kaja Szafrańska from the YouTube channel Jakbyniepeczec will talk.

You can expect things that are strange, juicy and not necessarily in line with good manners.

ARS INDEPENDENT FESTIVAL

Multimedia and pop culture festival of film, animation, video clip and video games. Under the banner of the Black Horse — a symbol of an unexpected winner, a reference to the proto-film experiment of the mad Eadweard Muybridge, an ironic comment on the golden fauna of film awards, or an appeal to the mining heritage of Upper Silesia.

This year's edition of the Ars Independent Festival will take place from 2 to 11 October. For film screenings and events, the organizers invite you to Katowice cinemas: Światowid Cinema and Rialto Cinema, as well as to the Fifth House and Doors Called the Horse. As part of the festival, four program sections are planned: film, animation, video games and music videos. In addition: events and special sections, concerts, meetings and discussions with the creators.

Ars Independent Festival has existed since 2011, since 2024 it is jointly organized by the cultural institution Katowice City of Gardens and the Silesia Film Institute in Katowice.
