A metal giant thanks — Megadeth brings their farewell tour to Denmark
Megadeth announces the European chapter of their multi-year global farewell tour “Breakout: Hibernation of the Nations”, and next year the iconic thrash metal pioneers are coming to Copenhagen, where Danish fans can celebrate more than 40 years of seminal metal history when the band takes on K.B. Hallen in the company of heavyweights Black Label Society and Testament on Saturday March 27th.
“This isn't about saying goodbye. It's about celebrating everything we've built together over the last four decades. Every city has its own story, every crowd has given us unforgettable memories, and we want to come back to celebrate that with the fans who made it all possible.” — Dave Mustaine
Dave Mustaine and Megadeth are and will be one of the most groundbreaking names in metal history. Since 1983, the band has sold over 50 million albums worldwide, received a GRAMMY Award as well as an additional 12 nominations, achieved billions of streams, had nine albums in the top 10 on the Billboard 200, and played for millions of dedicated fans in arenas and stadiums worldwide.
This year, Megadeth reached a new peak when their self-titled, seventeenth and final studio album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The album simultaneously topped the charts in a further 11 countries, once again cementing the band's status as one of the genre's most significant and influential names.
Last year the band announced their “Breakout: Hibernation of the Nations” tour, which they kicked off earlier this year and thus marked the beginning of their massive global farewell tour that now brings them back to Denmark where it all started — in K.B. Hallen, where they played their first Danish concert 36 years ago on their legendary Rust in Peace Tour in 1990.
After more than four decades of genre-defining albums, immortal classics and legendary live concerts, this tour will be a final opportunity for the many dedicated Danish fans to experience the hard-hitting energy and brawn that has made Megadeth one of thrash metal's absolute giants as they topple K.B. Hallen together with Black Label Society and Testament.
“When we started talking about this tour, we wanted it to be a true celebration of metal. Black Label Society and Testament are bands we have tremendous respect for and having them join us makes these shows even more special. This lineup represents decades of heavy music, and it's going to be an incredible night for the fans.” — Dave Mustaine
At the concert, the audience can look forward to a historic experience spanning Megadeth's legendary career and impressive catalog that counts some of the thrash metal genre's absolute masterpieces — from immortal metal anthems and fan favorites to select tracks from the band's historic #1 album.
