Celebrating 25 years of “All Is Dream”
Since the band's beginnings in Buffalo, New York back in 1989, Mercury Rev has been known for exploring the dreamy and experimental nooks and crannies of music. Their sound moves between psychedelic pop, evocative indie-rock and orchestral layers that combine to create a universe that is hard to compare to anything else.
The band have gained plenty of international recognition over the years: The Guardian has called them a band that constantly pushes the boundaries of rock music expression, while Rolling Stone has highlighted their “majestic chaos”. At the same time, the BBC describes their music as both “shimmering” and deeply alluring.
They really broke through with the iconic Deserter's Songs in 1998, which has since been named one of the most important albums of the 90s. Since, they have toured the world delivering some of the most atmospheric live experiences in the indie world.
In 2026, they will go on tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their 2001 album All Is Dream. Upon release, the Austin Chronicle wrote that Mercury Rev not just matched the level from Deserter's Songs, but downright surpassed it.
When Mercury Rev hits Studio 2 supported by Mick Harvey & Amanda Acevedo, it will be an evening where you can both disappear into the music and discover it again from new angles. Beautiful melodies, great emotions and a band that still dares to go new ways.
