Method for granddaughter

Charismatic older ladies are like fire and water. Danuta (Aldona Jankowska/Magdalena Wójcik), an incorrect dreamer, between presentations of cosmically expensive pots and washcloths, plays lotto motivated by fantasies about the journey of life. Bożena (Dorota Kamińska), on the other hand, is like wine — the older the... the stronger it is. She is hard on the ground, although she is an absolute fan of fast riding a scooter. What will happen when the world of extraordinary senior women is turned upside down in an instant? Can old friend Waldek (Robert Rozmus) get the ladies out of trouble? Apparently, there is no scoundrel over a Warszawian, but when the cunning Malwina (Agnieszka Wielgosz), full of feminine charms, enters the action, anything can happen. Mieczysław (Michał Milowicz/Marek Sadowski), who is in love, will join the crazy dance with fraudsters, because he knows perfectly well that “Polish girls have the most vitamins”...

“Method for Granddaughter” directed by Emiliano Kamiński is a hilarious comedy with a criminal plot in the background. Unusual art, in which age is treated with a grain of salt, and the life of mature Warsaw residents, is shown in a full palette of colors. A decent dose of humor, sharp reposts and an avalanche of emotions from which our scene will literally spin!

It is very good that the tenement house senses what the public needs in today's crazy times. There is no shortage of drama or epic situations in everyday life. People who want a breath from the sad reality expect laughter and joy. This does not mean at all that it is necessary to take to the workshop texts that are small and devoid of a deeper message.

A huge plus of this show is the way it approaches the subject. We do not see any heavy ramote, with a million teachings and truths revealed. There is an excellent text (Krzysztof Kędziora), excellent actors, excellent scenography (Andrzej Lewczuk), and all this is wonderfully arranged by the director (Emilian Kamiński), which in total gives a guarantee of spending two hours in a very positive atmosphere. Because it is like in a classic western, where after various twists and turns, good triumphs in the end.

In this performance you can see how important it is for the creators and actors to find the key to the text. It was possible to show the subject in a wedge and repaint the whole situation in black colors. But in my opinion, this approach would “kill” the subject. And when a serious matter is treated a little with a grain of salt - the whole thing rolls in colorful, bright colors (applause costumes and ingenious - wallpapers on the walls - and dynamic - strollers, scooter - set design!) , embellished with intriguing music and a play of lights, plus an absolute novelty in the tenement house — a rotating stage! This gives comfort to actors who are excellent at having fun alone, by the way entertaining and teaching (!) spectators filling the entire audience tightly.
