A total experience, a dance show, a world full of social inequalities in which love tries to survive.
Metropolis. Reflections from our times is a dance performance inspired by Thea von Harbou's novel Metropolis, which was also the basis for Fritz Lang's famous 1927 film, one of the most important works of expressionist cinema.
The novel Metropolis, although written a hundred years ago, has remained in some sense current. In our performance, however, we do not make a stage adaptation of a book or a film, for us it is only an inspiration, a starting point. We want to show that over the last hundred years, though so much seems to have changed — positively as well as negatively — human nature has remained unchanged. Milena Crameri
The choreographer confronts past and present fears related to technology. At the same time, it raises questions about our way of life today and charts a vision of the future in which the balance between humans, nature and machines plays a key role.
Milena Crameri is a dancer of the Baltic Opera Ballet. So far, as a choreographer, she has had the opportunity to present her author's etudes to the Tri-City audience during the Young Choreography Evenings. Metropolis. Reflections from our time is her full-blown debut.
The music for the performance was composed by the choreographer's sister — Dorotea Crameri.
The performance used a recording performed by the artists of the Baltic Opera Choir. Anna Osor, Aleksandra Kozłowska, Marta Szamal, Paulina Wilczyńska, Bartosz Żołubak, Artem Storozhuk, Wojciech Dowgiałło, Paweł Klemens, conductor - Jan Kurek took part in the recording.

PERFORMANCE WITH AUDIODESCRIPTION AND SENSORY WALK for people with visual disabilities - December 19, 2026
A performance with a live voiceover reading of what is happening on stage. Audio descriptions can be listened to through a special receiver equipped with headphones. Due to the limited number of receivers, the audio description is available upon prior reservation of the receiver at the Audience Service Office (tel. 58 350 06 15 or e-mail: %SpaceRad%).
A sensory walk is an introduction to the performance, which allows you to get to know the exhibited work and its staging by experiencing different senses of its individual elements. During the walk, we act on different senses - smell or touch (you can touch the costume, elements of the scenography), but we also use the action through movement. The walk starts one hour before the performance with audio description and lasts a maximum of 30 minutes.
