A Tale of the Last Habsburgs, Honor and Impossible Love

The paths of the Żywiec princess and the gypsy violinist intersect at the Czartoryski's ball. Growing up in luxury, Maria Krystyna of Habsburg falls in love with the world-famous virtuoso Manouche Baval. However, the lovers are divided by everything: property, origin, prospects for the future... Soon war breaks out, and the Habsburgs forget about the scandal.
The princely family is faced with a difficult choice: to persevere with Poland or to sign a folkslist.
A web of intrigues tightens around the Habsburgs, in which the SS captain Peter Weghorst and the greedy Gestapo Alois Vorel lead the way. Each of them has a hidden purpose... Will the Habsburgs manage to stand up to the Nazis? Will they prove Polish patriotism despite their Austrian origin? Do they decide to risk their wealth and freedom,
to preserve dignity?
Against the background of the war, the drama of the oppressed population of Żywiecczyzna unfolds: the highlander Kundzi and her husband Jank, their friends from the Sola dam - Maryśka, Władka, as well as local Roma who help the mysterious Baval to win his beloved.
