Two events that separated a decade. What united them was their opposition to communist reality and the fact that women played a major role in them. In 1971 they protested against the increases that had led to the collapse of the government of Władysław Gomułka a few months earlier. In 1981, the worsening economic situation took them to the streets. In both cases, their power was enormous.
