Warsaw “Dolls” and Warsaw today. What survived from Warsaw “Dolls” through the cataclysms of the 20th century? Do the problems and complexes of this city resemble those described by Bolesław Prus? Boulevards were built, as Wokulski dreamed of, the city has a local government, it is the capital of independent Poland. Is Paris still an unsurpassed model? What urban patterns does Warsaw have today?
We propose a debate on transient and non-transitory urban problems, based on the cultural and reading experience of Prus' vision.
The conversation with the invited guests will be conducted by Błażej Brzostek - a historian dealing with the history of cities, social life, researcher of women's history. He wrote, among other things, about the workers of the Stalinist era, about the cuisine of the PRL era and about the “little Paris” that Bucharest and Warsaw wanted to be. Author Back. History of Warsaw to the beginning and A Piece of the World. History of Warsaw from the beginning.
