Michael Krebs has been delighting his audience for over 20 years with songs full of groovy musicality and clever lyrics. To see how open, straightforward and quick-witted the songwriter goes about his concerts makes you smile and makes it clear that the live stage is his element.
But even this notoriously good-humored guy on the piano now has doubts. Is its once promised authenticity still reasonable in times of survival-of-the-fakest? Why does the word “problem area” mean everyone's stomach, legs, buttocks and no one thinks of the brain? Where to emigrate when the right is already everywhere? And above all: Is the future still a solution at all?
Fortunately, thanks to attention spans shredded by TikTok, no one expects an answer to such complex questions anymore. Perhaps Michael Krebs will still give one. As long as we can laugh at ourselves together, painting black is definitely not an option. You don't have to be the brightest light on the dark web to check that.
“I no longer believe in humanity, but I still believe in humanity,” says Michael Krebs. And so his concerts are not ones that make you forget the world outside for two hours. Much better: They let you see the world through different eyes. And that feels good. So good that you have to exaggerate so as not to lie.
