Michelle Gurevich occupies Bremen Theatre with lo-fi noir and decadent artpop
Michelle Gurevich, formerly Chinawoman, has, across a string of critically acclaimed albums, achieved international acclaim for her alluring noir universe, which hovers between touching melodies, dark humour and shadowy glamour.
As the daughter of a Russian ballerina and an engineer from Leningrad, she has grown up with old records from the Soviet era, which is reflected in earnest in her sombre songs that are equal parts Nico, David Bowie and Leonard Cohen. Her music has additionally been used for the catwalks of Fendi, Yves Saint Laurent, Dries Van Noten and Victoria Beckham.
On 11 December she comes to the Bremen Theatre after a complete sold-out concert at the Hotel Cecil last year.
Doors open: 19:00
