Mickey & Richard

Portrait of 1980s gay porn icon “Mickey Squires” evolves from a historical documentary to an essay about intimacy, identity and coming of age as queer. Composed of erotic archive footage from several decades, the film explores the realities of the porn industry, the pressure to live up to the image we ourselves have created, and the struggle to find meaningful relationships.
