Snapshots from the Past — Stories of Ancient Objects

We invite you to educational activities where the past will merge with the present.

During the workshop, participants will get to know the background of everyday life in a former bourgeois house. We will tell you about the role and responsibilities of individual family members and the hardships of the work of the servants and the kitchen. We will look into an old trunk hiding fashion pearls from the XIX/XX century and a suitcase packed for a distant expedition. It will be an extraordinary opportunity to get close to the exhibits, which will play an important role in the course of our classes. In the workshop part, participants will write in groups scenarios for short time-lapse animations, which they will create based on objects and arrangement materials. The artist Estera Gałuszek will help them in this interesting task. The kitchen? Living room? Dressing room? Where will your story take place?

Instructors: Katarzyna Kucharska (Muzeum Krakowa), Estera Gałuszka (Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków)

Important information: You will need a smartphone to perform the animation!
