On stage alongside the orchestra, talented soloists will perform: Magdalena Meisel, Joanna Lubańska, Agnieszka Stec, Wioletta Pochmara-Kapcewicz and Mikołaj Meisel, presenting timeless standards and hits from the repertoire of such stars as Aretha Franklin, Lady Gaga, Maryla Rodowicz, 2+1 or Deep Purple, as well as atmospheric compositions of the likes of “The Magic Frog” by Jerzy Milian.

From swing to soul, jazz-rock and blues. The Milian Orchestra will take listeners on a journey through a variety of musical genres, discovering the best of their own repertoire. The concert from behind the pianist's desk will be conducted by Romuald Gizdoń and the orchestra will present its achievements in new arrangements. The autumn concert is also an opportunity to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Milian Orchestra Association, which, in addition to concert activities, pursues numerous goals in the field of music education.

The history of today's big band dates back to the 1970s, when the Polish Radio and Television Entertainment Orchestra was founded in Katowice. Its founder and director was the outstanding jazz vibraphonist Jerzy Milian. During its activity, the orchestra recorded entertainment and jazz works and collaborated with the best vocalists and instrumentalists. She recorded television programs and participated in the largest festivals organized in Poland, as well as toured abroad. She has collaborated with more than 250 composers, nearly 200 songwriters and 180 vocalists. She accompanied the most important musical events — from the National Festival of Polish Song to the International Song Festival in Sopot. At the beginning of December 2013, a group of former musicians and orchestra enthusiasts gathered, deciding to reactivate Jerzy Milian's band, which today operates under the name Big Band Milian Orchestra.
