About the event

Love and music — two powerful forces that escape reason and all predictability. But when the two come together in one story, they understand each other perfectly. This unique synergy in a masterful style was captured in his operas by Giacomo Puccini, an uncompromising portraitist of human nature, who transformed the quietest vibrations of emotion into an element of great dramatic power. The concert will open with an atmospheric Preludio sinfonico, followed by the enchanting aria Recondita armonia from Tosca and Un bel dì, vedremo from Madame Butterfly — a poignant confession of a woman who turns hope for her beloved's return into unwavering certainty, although fate seems to have other plans. While the opera makes love fight fate, the operetta puts it to the test without regretting the fun and brilliant qui pro quo. Su-Chong's overture and aria from The Land of Smiles, Sylva's Chardash and a duet from The Princess of the Witch, as well as excerpts from Revenge of the Bat and the Gypsy Baron will show her lighter face — as a force whimsical, perverse and always ready to thwart intricately arranged plans. However, lightness does not mean superficiality. Under the guise of wit, we discover quite serious reflections on human nature, and in funny plots we look at ourselves as if in a mirror. Because although the picture is slightly redrawn, the reflection turns out to be surprisingly familiar - in the desires, weaknesses and imperfections of the characters we easily recognize ourselves. In the finale, one more installment of love according to Puccini. After the exuberant Capriccio sinfonico, there will be scenes full of emotions from the Bohemian: the first meeting and confessions of Rodolfo and Mimi and the duet O soave fanciulla — a moment of dazzle, the beauty of which is all the greater because from the beginning it is accompanied by a shadow of passing.
