Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, directed by Jane Schoenbrun, USA 2026, 106'

There's a hole at the bottom of the lake. That's where the movies come from. Young, talented director Kris (Hannah Einbinder) gets a chance at a film studio to make a remake of the cult horror series “Camp Miasma”, which was hugely popular in the 1980s and 1990s. To find inspiration, he goes to meet Billy (Gillian Anderson), who played the main role in the prototype of the project. A visit to an eccentric actress quickly turns into more than just an interview.

Although Shoenbrun tells the story of the creation of a fictional horror series, it is not a horror in itself, but only draws on its aesthetics. It is a visually beautiful cinephile feast that tells above all about the boundless love of cinema. And about how this love changes our lives.
