LOVE IN SAYBROOK is a unique play of different genres of theater, the deeper purpose of which is to tell the complex truth of human feelings. Telling the love problems of three married couples, Woody Allen brilliantly mixes conventions, including comedy, absurd grotesque and crime, to extract from theatrical fiction some truth about our longings and inadequacies.

A married couple with seven years of experience, she - psychologist, he - orthodontist (Katarzyna Kwiatkowska and Marcin Perchuć), celebrate another wedding anniversary in their charming house in the pretty town of Old Saybrook. Together with them, relatives take part in the reception, the sister of the psychologist - the owner of a lingerie store and her husband - a plastic surgeon (Joanna Liszowska and Wiktor Zborowski/Sylwester Maciejewski). The unexpected appearance of the former owners of the house - an accountant-poet (Mikołaj Roznerski) and his shy wife (Barbara Kurdej-Szatan/Anna Cieślak) will reveal a shocking secret hidden in a secret closet...

If we add to this a mysterious man (Wojciech Wysocki) and a series of cut jokes, an avalanche of not always polite jokes and musical inserts of sung hits about love (for example, “All you need is love” by The Beatles) — we get our show.

There are millions of books... written by the greatest minds, none of which can answer the great questions of life... Perhaps the poets are right. Maybe the only answer is love.
