During the carnival period, NFM will not lack a program designed for cinema lovers. However, it will not be an orchestral concert with majestic and, as we sometimes say colloquially, “epic” themes. We propose a minimalist evening, prepared by the exceptional duo of Edyta Krzemeń and Jacek Szwaj accompanied by a string chamber ensemble.
Edyta Krzemeń, a musical artist and singer who recently recorded Glinda's songs in the Polish dubbed cinematic version of the musical Wicked, will perform with a reflective program. It will present songs and melodies of film music, which were performed in the original by Kathleen Battle, Lisa Gerrard or Enya, as well as an Oscar song from the image of Barbie, belonging to the repertoire of Billie Eilish. We will hear a lullaby from the famous Labyrinth of Faun, a concert from the Double Life of Weronika or vocals by Wojciech Kilar from the Ninth Gate. The evening will not lack motifs by Ennia Morricone, from Once Upon a Time in the Wild West through Mission to Cinema Paradiso.
The artist will be accompanied by Jacek Szwaj, a pianist who moves efficiently in both the field of jazz and classics, who is also a vocalist. It will prompt listeners to meditate, recalling Hans Zimmer's interstellar theme from the unforgettable Interstellar. Chopin's music from the soundtrack to the Pianist will flow to the pearl. There will also be some of the most popular Polish cinema themes. Among them will be the famous Two Hearts of the Cold War. A separate bundle of this abundant bouquet will be fragments and songs from animations such as Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs or the Bell of Notre-Dame. It will end with a song from the film The Wizard of Oz — Somewhere Over the Rainbow, sung in the original by Judy Garland herself.
