On 26 October at the CKE Stara Rzeźnia, the 54th meeting of the series “History of Polish maritime economy and maritime education” will be held, dedicated to the memory of Mira Urbaniak — an excellent sailor, caphorner, polar explorer, journalist and great lover of the sea.
Mira Urbaniak entered the history of Szczecin sailing as a person extremely connected to the sea, sailing ships and maritime culture. Her passion included both sea expeditions and popularizing knowledge of sailing. She was also closely associated with CKE Stara Rzeźnia, for which she invented the Captain's Mesa.
The meeting will be an opportunity to recall her extraordinary achievements, marine fascinations and contribution to the life of Szczecin and its sailing environment. The lecture will be conducted by Ludmiła Kopycińska — city and field guide of the PTTK, professionally associated with the port of Szczecin for 35 years, passionate about the city and the history of the Polish maritime economy.
