About the event

Tymoteusz Rymcimci by legendary puppeteer actor and director Jan Wilkowski, adapted by Sandra Szwarc, is a simple but incredibly funny story about a certain talkative teddy bear bearing the serious sounding name Tymoteusz.

The bear cub and his Bear Daddy live in a small house leading a quiet life full of ordinary affairs. One day, Timothy is sent by Dad to the store for a missing scrambled egg. For a scrambled egg of five eggs can only succeed if there are five of them, right?

On the way back, he meets a dog, with whom he befriends. But will he be able to go home with him? Isn't the teddy bear too small for a four-legged friend? And what about all this, Daddy Bear?

This show full of cheerful songs touching the ordinary (but how serious!) Children's concerns, such as the desire to have a close friend, care and responsibility for the pet and the feeling of loneliness, will cause a smile on the face of many children. And it will prompt parents to reflect on children's sensitivity, the need for trust and unconditional acceptance.

Timothy the Bear is a spectacle in which the characters are brought to life with the help of muppet dolls, and kitchen utensils become full-fledged characters. It is full of humor, songs and touching moments. It touches on topics close to children: the desire to have a friend, care for a pet, loneliness and acceptance. It will bring a smile to the face of every viewer, and will prompt parents to reflect on children's sensitivity and need for trust.

Wojtek Stachura, director of the play

________________________________________________________ Reviews: “Timothy Bear — the latest premiere at the Grotesque Theatre — is a combination of stage tradition with an attempt to reach the youngest audience, for whom the internet is as natural as the first day of spring or the morning greeting in a circle in kindergarten. The show is distinguished not only by its “digitality”, but also by its extraordinary aesthetics. (...) It is worth emphasizing that the muppet dolls, props and scenery are a real masterpiece. With each subsequent performance in the Grotesque, I wonder where the imagination and ingenuity of the art studio of this theater end. From the refrigerator, from which a sinister mold emerges from time to time, and ending with an unwashed pigeon leaving “bombs” where it falls — absolutely every visual element of the Timothy Teddy bear is refined to the smallest detail.”

Piotr Gaszczyński, Theatre for All

“There is freedom, bravado and unpretentiousness in children's theater, which I have been looking for in vain lately on adult, big stages. In Timothy Bear there are jokes that entertain, romances that we regret because they did not have a chance to develop, lack of political correctness (do we dare in real life to call someone who does not know foreign languages a fool?) and a little bit in the nose of the present. (...) The smile does not leave our faces, we are soothed by laughter and the unrestrained comments of immature spectators and spectators, until we finally forget that we have grown up and join the flight to Neverland.”

Georgina Gryboś, Radio Krakow Culture
