Mission: Impossible

It was in 1996 that Tom Cruise first took on the role of action hero Ethan Hunt in Brian de Palma's 'Mission: Impossible'. De Palma is the man behind Hollywood thrillers such as 'Stand-in for murder' and 'Death erases all traces', and the craft also fails a thing when Ethan Hunt must try to infiltrate a security system of laser beams that can intercept any movement or change in the temperature of the room. The plot details are quickly forgotten, but the suspense and action scenes are riveting -- and the film was one of the biggest cinema hits of 1996.
