Is the teaching work at an art university limited to the transfer of knowledge and technical skills? What does the student get from the meeting with the master and how does his own creativity allow today to look at the teacher's art from a new perspective?
We invite you to a tour of the exhibition “Kachu Totalny. The Art of Kazimierz Ostrowski”, which will be conducted by Prof. Krzysztof Gliszczyński. It will be an opportunity to look at Kacha's work not only through his works, but also through the prism of personal experience, memory and artistic dialogue.
Together we will consider what in the master-student relationship remains for a long time, and what evolves and acquires new meanings over time. There will also be a look at Ostrowski's painting from the perspective of another artist — a view in which knowledge of art meets his own creative practice and individual sensitivity.
Prof. Krzysztof Gliszczyński (born in 1962 in Miastek) is a painter, a graduate of the PWSSP in Gdańsk, where in 1987 he obtained a diploma with honors in the studio of Prof. Kazimieraz Ostrowski. Associated with the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, he held the functions of Dean of the Faculty of Painting and Projector, and in 2011 he received the title of Professor of Fine Arts. In her work, she explores the relationship between painting matter, gesture and idea.
