The Berliner Gemäldegalerie owns a total of six works by arguably the most famous Florentine painter of the early Renaissance! At the center of the paintings with Henrik Engel is to be the large altar from the Bardi family chapel, whose commission and creation, iconography and original installation location in the Santo Spirito church — as is unfortunately rare otherwise — are well documented.
