At the foot of the sacred Tepozteco hill, 15-year-old Karla is finding her way through adolescence and the transition phase. The film “Kani”, shot over a period of eight years, depicts her journey with tenderness, humour and joy. Together, they navigate through the uncertainty, beauty and everyday magic of growing up as a trans person in rural Mexico, surrounded by family, friendship, nature and change.
