Youth Astronomical Circle — basic group

Are you fascinated by the infinite Universe, dream of learning the secrets of the night sky and want to learn how stars, planets and galaxies form? Wolszczan Planetarium of the Marine Science Center invites all young enthusiasts to join the new edition of the Youth Astronomical Circle for the winter semester.

The core group was created for people who are just taking their first steps in the world of astronomy. During the meetings you will learn how to move around the celestial sphere efficiently and recognize the constellations under the digital dome of the Planetarium. You will also learn the secrets of the structure of the solar system, the evolution of stars and the structure of different types of galaxies.

Why join? • The care of an experienced enthusiast: The classes are led by the teacher and educator of astronomy, Tomasz Skowron, who passionately introduces the participants to the world of observation techniques and facilitates understanding of the latest space discoveries. • Modern technology and equipment: Thanks to digital sky simulators and professional optical equipment, observations take place outside the window regardless of the weather. There are also telescopes and the terrace of the Marine Science Center, allowing direct observations of celestial bodies. • Combining theory with practice: Meetings are not only theoretical knowledge, but above all demonstrations, discussions, simulations and the opportunity to get involved in research projects and events popularizing science. • Development of passion and scientific curiosity: It is an ideal space to meet peers with similar interests, developing scientific inquisitiveness and learning to look at the sky with passion.
