Clothes make people and they form images of an era. This is exactly what the exhibition “Portraits! Surprising encounters from Botticelli to Lempicka”. During their run, art historian Britta Bode and art and costume historian Martin Hanssen explore selected examples from special and permanent exhibitions with regard to the major fashion trends of the last six centuries. This time, they look at continualities and change in fashion from 1600 to 1900.
