About the event

Scottish post-rock band Mogwai will return to Denmark and can be seen at the Opera in November 2026 on their 'MOGWAI 30' tour. In over 30 years and through 11 studio albums, Mogwai — using raw, sonic power combined with subtlety and elegance — have defined their own musical genre and built a loyal fan base by staying true to their sound and their roots. The tour will see Mogwai perform songs from across their 30-year discography, including their 11th studio album 'The Bad Fire', which was released last year to great critical acclaim.

Mogwai are known for their predominantly instrumental, experimental postrock, in which fragile, melodic passages meet explosive climaxes and monumental soundscapes. Their music is both physical and emotional -- a soundtrack to the movie you create yourself in your head. With 11 studio albums behind them, including the critically acclaimed and Mercury Prize-nominated “As The Love Continues” (2021) and the band's newest “The Bad Fire” (2025), the band has proven that they can innovate without letting go of their distinctive expression.

The story of Mogwai began in Glasgow in 1991, when Stuart Braithwaite and Dominic Aitchison met each other at a concert. In 1995, the band was officially formed and Braithwaite's living room kick-started a career that has since positioned them as one of the most influential groups of the British underground. Glasgow has fostered genre-defining names such as The Jesus and Mary Chain and Primal Scream since the 1980s — and from the mid-90s Mogwai itself has been a crucial source of inspiration for post-rock bands the world over.
