Moin (GB) | CONCERT | FONOMO

London trio Moin redefines the guitar band's formula, combining grunge, shoegaze and post-rock with improvisation and experimental electronics. The group consists of Tom Halstead and Joe Andrews — known for the electronic/industrial duo Raime — and Valentina Magaletti, a drummer who has collaborated with Thurston Moore, Tomaga and Vanishing Twin, among others.

Although Moin's roots lie in experimental and electronic music, the band goes back to the traditions of post-punk, noise rock and post-hardcore, disassembling their elements and composing their own language. Magaletti's organic, powerful percussion meets repetitive guitars and electronic textures, and the severity of the sound is interspersed with more subtle and melodic passages.

The album “You Never End”, featuring Olan Monk, James K, Coby Sey and Sophia Al-Maria, and the EP “Belly Up” show the band's openness to collaboration and further development of this formula. Moin concerts balance between energetic rock performance, experimental performance and sonoristic experience.
