MY YEAR OF RELAXATION AND REST

based on the novel by Ottessa Moshfegh, translated by Lukasz Buchalski

My Year of Relaxation and Rest, an adaptation of Ottessa Moshfegh's popular, perversely funny novel, is the story of a young woman who decides, using a mixture of psychotropic drugs, to shut herself off for one year from her life — to sleep mourning a family in which there was no love anyway, to escape from all-consuming and false eviscerated from the feelings of the relationship. Give up everything you have and hibernate in order to find yourself and be reborn again.

The first premiere of the Drama Theater in the 2022/23 season is directed by Katarzyna Minkowska, a rising star of the young Polish theater, director of the performances “Stream” from TR Warszawa, enthusiastically received by critics and viewers “The Strangers” from the Polish Theater in Poznań and “Orlando. Bloomsbury” from the National Old Theatre in Krakow.
