We've known each other forever... wait, wait... are we sure we know each other?
“My Version of the Truth” is a comedy-drama about four siblings who meet at their father's apartment on the day of his funeral to sort out the mementos of the deceased and decide what to do with the inheritance. Meanwhile, they discover that the apartment has been completely looted.
The case is all the more strange, since no signs of burglary can be seen, and nothing valuable was lost. What was the intruder looking for? Did he find that “something”?
The meeting turns into a meticulous investigation that unexpectedly triggers extreme emotions, mutual animosities and difficult memories come to life. Family secrets are coming to light.
According to the Harvard Study of Adult Development, close ties — both family and social — are crucial to our well-being and health, happiness and longevity. Although most of us declare that family is important or even the most important, more and more people are experiencing loneliness, even among family or friends.
Why?
This show is a poignant, but also funny story about the power of communication and the need for openness in relationships with family, friends, with everyone around. Regardless of where we are in our lives.
The creators invite you to reflect on how our daily gestures and words affect the world around us. They do not limit themselves to stories about the family, but take the topic of human relationships in a broader context. They ask universal questions: what makes us move away from each other? Why do we break ties? Can we find the courage and strength to rebuild them, even if it seems too late?
