On a beautiful June weekend in 1967, the apogee of “Years of Love”, the first and only Monterey Pop Festival was held, accumulating the spirit of the decade and heralding the coming era of rock. This is where Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin started their careers. In addition to them, in the film you can see such diverse creators as: Simon and Garfunkel, The Mamas and the Papas, The Who, Hugh Masekela or the unusual Ravi Shankar. The director of the film, the legendary creator of musical documentaries D.A. Pennebaker, in his characteristic, true-to-reality style, immortalizes them all in the moments that are now legendary: Pete Townshend destroying his guitar or setting his Hendrix on fire.
