During the workshop, we will reflect on how water and rivers “store memory”, as Robert Macfarlane wrote in his latest book. Starting from listening to the sounds of water in their different configurations and transformations, we will not only listen to how the stories of rivers and people intertwine with each other, but we will also reflect on the language with which these tangles can be described.

About the event

During the workshop, we will reflect on how water and rivers “store memory”, as Robert Macfarlane wrote in his latest book. Starting from listening to the sounds of water in their different configurations and transformations, we will not only listen to how the stories of rivers and people intertwine with each other, but we will also reflect on the language with which these tangles can be described.

One of the methods will be attentive, in-depth listening. It will be accompanied by a work with language that will allow us to launch the resources of our imagination related to the sounds of water. The leitmotif of the meeting will be Dłubnia and the rich history of its connections with human history, culture and economy.

During the workshop we will:

create your own instructions (scores) for listening to situated rivers that are close to us or to which memories and memory bind us.
