Mozu

They haven't seen each other for 15 years when the newly divorced Sachiko (Ineko Arima) visits her mother Sugako (Chikage Awashima) at her workplace, an entertainment venue in Tokyo. The fact that Sugako left her little daughter behind with her relatives in the countryside during the war in order to build a life in Tokyo after her husband's death is just as much an accusation as Sachiko's irritation about her mother's career choice and life plan. When they nevertheless decide to move in together, bitter disputes, fears of loss, distrust and disappointment are inevitable. Produced by the Ninjin Club, MOZU is a bitter and merciless melodrama whose bright colors and sometimes cheerful moments with Sugako's former colleagues stand in sharp contrast to the dark family conflicts.
